Hella Pinay Issue 02

I decided to bring Hella Pinay into print magazine format because I believe it's super important to disrupt the traditional media landscape and create the reflections of ourselves that we want to see in the world. To see people who look like us represented in an empowering, beautiful way positively impacts not just ourselves, but also has intergenerational and cross-cultural effects.

Hella Pinay Issue 01 Spring/Summer 2021 is loosely centered around ‘Resilience’ and is packed with 114 full-color pages of interviews, fashion editorials and photography bookended by two different covers.

Cover #1: Shapeshifter. Singer/songwriter/DJ King Marie stuns in bold new silhouettes.

Cover #2: Arm The Girls. We Are The Ones’s mutual aid initiative building power and safety with BIPOC queer and trans femmes + a conversation with Guerrilla Davis and Pearl Teese.
